Black Horse mis sold PPI
The number of people making a PPI reclaim has risen dramatically in recent years following the Financial Services Authority’s 2006 investigation into the mis-selling of the cover. Despite extensive media coverage of the issue there is still some confusion as to what constitutes mis-selling.
‘Mis-selling’ essentially means there was some failure connected with the sale of your policy. It could be that you were given the wrong or inadequate information, that you were pressured into taking out the cover or that you were sold a policy you didn’t need or couldn’t use.
If you feel your lender let you down and you have Black Horse mis sold PPI you are urged to make a claim. You can even register a complaint if your loan is already paid off. To find out more, call our team on 0207 471 2000. We also help unhappy customers reclaim unfair bank charges.
Following a 2006 investigation by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) it was revealed that some of the charges applied by banks and lenders to credit cards were unfair. Their investigation focused on charges levied for exceeding agreed limits and submitting late payments. In some cases it was found that lenders were charging up to £35 for these kinds of fees. Although banks tried to justify the charges by claiming they were necessary to cover the costs incurred the OFT rejected this idea. It concluded that £12 was the maximum charge that should be applied for exceeding a limit or making a late payment.
Since the OFT investigation most lenders have lowered their charges to £12, but, if you have paid excessive charges in the past, you now have the right to make a complaint and you could receive hundreds, or even thousands, of pounds in compensation.
