  • Were you under 18 or over 65 years of age when cover was sold?
  • Did you inform the lender of any pre-existing medical conditions?
  • Were you self employed, temporarily employed, unemployed or a full time student?

Those are just general things to consider when trying to figure out whether or not you can get back bank charges by filing mis sold PPI. If any of those situations describes your experience, then perhaps you were indeed mis sold payment protection and are eligible to get back bank charges.

How to Claim Mis Sold PPI

One thing that many people aren't aware of is that you need to file a mis sold PPI claim with the lender and not the insurance company. The insurer is, for all intents and purposes, an innocent party in all this as it was the lender who did the selling. This is not to say that insurance companies were not privy to what was happening, it is just saying that they had nothing to do with the actual sales.
