Halifax Loan Insurance
If you have a mortgage it is very likely you may also have some form of payment protection insurance. Payment protection cover is a type of insurance designed to protect a policyholder by taking over debt repayments if they cannot work due to sickness, accident or involuntary unemployment. The cover has been heavily criticised, though, as it can be very expensive and does not always offer good value for money. This point was emphasised by a 2008 Competition Commission survey that found only 28% of customers who tried to use their mortgage payment protection policies received a payout. This means, potentially, that more than two-thirds of mortgage payment protection policyholders may be paying for a policy they would be unable to use
Another issue with mortgage payment protection cover, like Halifax loan insurance, is that it has been widely mis-sold. Mis-selling can range from a policyholder not being given sufficient information prior to the sale to the customer being sold a policy that was totally unsuitable for their needs. Mis-selling has become a significant problem throughout the lending world and there has been a dramatic rise in the amount of customers making payment protection insurance claims.
If you believe you may have been mis-sold a policy you too could make a claim. We have already helped in excess of 60,000 customers and recovered more than £50 million. We aim to get a full refund of all premiums paid for every customer plus 8% interest.
