Nationwide PPI Complaints
Payment protection insurance claims have risen to record numbers in recent years, but it is estimated that many thousands more people may be entitled to make a complaint and potentially receive thousands of pounds in compensation.
The issues surrounding the sale of payment protection cover are numerous. It has been found that some lenders have added policies without the customer’s consent, put customers under undue pressure to take up the cover and have sold policies to customers that were ineligible to use them. It seems that mis-selling has occurred across the lending world, to varying degrees, from independent financial advisers through to multi-national banking groups.
If you have taken out a loan, credit card or mortgage through Nationwide in the last ten years it is very likely you were also offered some type of payment protection cover and that this cover may have been mis-sold. We have already helped hundreds of customers to make Nationwide PPI complaints. For more information on how we could help you make a claim call our team on 0207 471 2000.
We also help customers claiming back bank charges. If you have paid a late payment or over the limit fee on your credit card then you may be able to claim a refund. An investigation by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) in 2006 found that some banks were paying up to £35 for late payment and over the limit fees. The lenders tried to justify this by claiming it was to cover the costs incurred. The OFT rejected this idea; however, and announced that they believed a maximum charge of £12 was fair in these cases. Since the OFT’s investigations most lenders have dropped their fees to £12 and, if you have paid excess charges in the past, you now have the right to make a claim.
