Nationwide PPI reclaim
The issue of mis-sold payment protection has made numerous headlines in recent years as the number of customers registering complaints continues to grow. Since 2005 more than 1.5 million complaints have been received regarding the issue of mis sold PPI making it the single most complained about insurance product.
If you suspect you may have been mis-sold a policy, but have yet to start your Nationwide PPI reclaim we can help. Nationwide have sold payment protection cover on loans, mortgages and credit cards and, although it is impossible to estimate how many policies may have been mis-sold, a substantial amount of complaints have already been received.
If you are unsure whether your policy was mis-sold it is a good idea to start by thinking about the information you were given at the point of sale. Were you given full information regarding the terms and conditions and costs of the policy? Did anything the sales representative tell you later prove to be inaccurate? If you do not feel you were given the necessary information to make an informed decision or that you were mislead by the sales representative you could make a claim for mis-selling.
It is also important to note that many people were sold policies that they were, quite simply, ineligible to use. If you were aged over sixty-five, had a pre-existing medical condition or were self-employed and you were sold payment protection cover it is very likely you were sold a policy that you could never hope to use. This is because the majority of PPI policies do not cover customers in these situations. It may also be considered mis-selling if you were sold a policy that could only be of limited use to you. If, for example, you were a student, retired or unemployed you probably should not have been sold this cover as its primary function is to protect against loss of employment.
