PPI Claim: Economic recovery 'just beginning'

The UK economy has started emerging from recession but the journey back to prosperity will be a long one.

That's according to governor of the Bank of England Mervyn King who made the comments yesterday (November 11th).

He said that although the British economy is set to officially be out of the recession early next year, we cannot expect it to recover to a pre-recession level until late 2011 at the earliest.

Recently, the Bank of England injected £25 billion into the economy in a bid to kick-start lending.

Last month, King slammed banking bosses for their lack of responsibility before the global financial crises and hinted that large banks may need to be broken up to create more competition in the sector.

Big banks have also been criticised for mis-selling PPI which has led to millions losing out and having to look for PPI refunds.
