PPI claims could increase following New Year's resolutions
There could be a glut of PPI claims this January, if the nation's New Year's resolutions are anything to go by.
According to research by Gocompare.com, some 27 million people intend to make a resolution this year, with sorting out finances and doing more exercise top of the list.
A survey of 1,500 Britons revealed that 56 per cent plan to make a resolution, however 70 per cent admitted they normally give up in the first six months.
More alarmingly still, 41 per cent said that they are unlikely to even make it out of January.
The research indicated that 37 per cent intend to sort out their finances and pay off debts in 2010.
Lee Griffin, a representative of the company, warned that financial complacency could leave people in hot water.
"I doubt very much that everybody has got their finances in order, so resolving to cut outgoings and shop around more are still likely to be good resolutions this year too," he added.
