A retired mechanic from north London had to wait nearly a week for his money to be returned after it was swallowed by one of his bank's cash machines.Reginald Jinks, who was withdrawing his father's weekly pension, had £140 debited from the account but no money came out of the ATM, the Tottenham Journal reports. The incident occurred at Santander's Green Lanes branch in Haringey, with the money being credited on March 24th, six days after Mr Jinks had originally attempted to withdraw it.He told the newspaper he was angry that the bank "can get away with it"."I said to them 'are you sure the software in that machine is working?' and she said 'we've had trouble before'. She said there were other people affected," he commented.Santander originally told Mr Jinks that he may have to wait up to 20 working days to be credited with the cash.Faulty ATM machines can sometimes lead to cards having to be cancelled, which can have repercussions if goods or services yet to be received were purchased using the card.Belmont Thornton can help you make a PPI claim Payment Protection Insurance Claim, or a credit card charges claim.
