People who are having trouble paying off their loan charges should learn to take control of their debt.According to Dan Roberts, therapist and wellbeing coach, people who are burdened with debt should not ignore the problem. He said: "The most important thing to do when you've got debt is to not bury your head in the sand."Anything you can do that's practical, even if that's coming to an arrangement with your creditors and paying off a certain amount each month."He added that taking control of the situation is "vital" if you are to feel better about it.Mr Roberts added that debt can have an impact on people's mental health because it causes anxiety. The latest debt statistics by Credit Action found that the total UK personal debt at the end of April 2011 was £1,452 billion.Findings showed that the twelve-month growth rate remained unchanged at 0.8 per cent.Jennifer HainesJennifer's speciality knowledge is credit card changes and balance transfers.
