People looking to avoid credit card charges by using price comparison websites may not actually be saving themselves any money. This is because a new survey has found almost half of consumers (46 per cent) are able to find a better deal elsewhere, reports thisismoney.co.uk. The report, by consumerIntelligence.com found that 90 per cent of consumers use these websites to buy items, such as holidays, phone and broadband services and financial products. James Daley, editor of Which? Money, explained why consumers are able to find better deals away from price comparison websites. He said: "One problem is that you can never get a full sweep of the market with price comparison websites, especially when it comes to insurance products. For example, Aviva and Direct Line have chosen to stay off them. "The biggest challenge is changing customers' perceptions. I think they can't start to earn consumers' trust by becoming more transparent."Jennifer Haines Jennifer's speciality knowledge is credit card changes and balance transfers.
