PPI Refunds could alleviate financial pressure

PPI refunds could help UK families as they struggle to avoid falling into debt.

New research from Legal & General has found that around 11.5 million households – just more than half of the total number – are now precariously close to not being able to afford bill payments.

The figures revealed that one million households have less cash to spare after paying bills than they did a year ago.

"The continuing financial turmoil has created millions of households for whom just paying bills has become a real struggle," said Mark Gregory, Legal & General executive director of savings.

He added that some people are considering using savings to cope with increasing fuel prices and the rising cost of utility bills.

Aviva has reported families consider debt repayments to be important and are spending an average £217.83 on them each month.ADNFCR-2776-ID-800753930-ADNFCR
