PPI Claims: Consumers 'still want to spend'
Those people still to do their Christmas shopping may find that they could avoid making tough choices about who gets gifts if they have an extra financial boost available to them.
Payment protection insurance claims and credit card refunds could allow consumers to buy products for all their friends and families.
Children's presents are currently the number one priority for British families, with most parents spending £104 on each child, a new report from MORE TH>N has found.
There is also a gender bias when it comes to buying gifts, as the research revealed that consumers will spend more on mothers, sisters, grandmothers and mother-in-laws than the male equivalents.
Despite the tough economic conditions experienced by many this year, people are still looking to spend money on their loved ones, said Matt Pernett, Head of MORE TH>N home insurance.
PPI claims could be particularly timely for some British households, as a recent survey by Citizens Advice found two in five have not saved throughout the year for Christmas.
