One in three Britons could be in desperate need of a payout from a payment protection insurance (PPI) claim, as they have nothing left for themselves once they have paid their bills each month. A new survey conducted by Bright Grey showed than more than 16 million Britons have no disposable income whatsoever. In addition to this, ten per cent of the population stated they spend more than their salary and have started to see their debt levels grow as a result. Proposition director at the firm Roger Edwards believes 2012 will continue to be a bleak year for UK consumers. "The fact that a third of people currently have no money left at the end of the month is a worryingly fragile situation to be in," he commented. Research conducted by uSwitch.com has discovered that two-thirds of Britons have experienced a pay freeze in the past 12 months, with many saying they will have to significantly reign in their spending in order to cope.
