Credit card claim news: Consumers unhappy with plastic providers

Many consumers - some of whom will have taken out credit card payment protection insurance - are generally unhappy with the service provided by their bank.

A new survey published today (January 18th) by uSwitch.com has found that satisfaction levels among credit card users continue to deteriorate and are currently at an all-time low.

The research indicated that 25 per cent of surveyed Britons have three or more credit cards, which is down from 30 per cent at the same point last year.

Personal finance expert at the comparison website Michael Ossei suggested that although people are unhappy with the standard of customer service offered by their card provider, many have little choice but to use their cards because they are in so much debt already.

"[With] high street banks still providing some of the worst service, consumers should look around further afield at new providers for the best credit card for them," he remarked.

Research firm Defaqto recently declared that some banks are offering increasingly attractive rates on credit cards in order to gain more customers during these austere times.
