Bank refunds: Brits 'saving money' with vouchers
Brits trying to avoid incurring loan charges or making credit card claims may wish to use vouchers when shopping.
According to Nationwide head of current accounts John Crossley, four-fifths of people are utilising these items, with three-quarters of Brits willing to alter their purchasing decisions based on the available vouchers.
He thinks these tools could significantly help individuals in saving money, he stated.
Members of the public are trying to cut their outgoings "wherever they can", the representative remarked, arguing: "These are difficult times."
Some people have managed to save "an awful lot of money", Mr Crossley said.
He pointed to a survey conducted by Nationwide, in which 51 per cent of respondents said they had managed to save as much as £100 in the last 12 months.
"If you look at that across the UK, that is £40 billion," he declared.
Recent research from Southern Railway found almost one-quarter of consumers in the county use money-saving opportunities or vouchers every week.
