Overpaid Loan Insurance

It has been estimated that in the UK alone there are thousands of people who may have overpaid loan insurance. This means that people are paying for PPI policies that they may not even be able to make claims on. The good news is, if you have been mis-sold payment protection You may be entitled to make a claim. If you have overpaid loan protection insurance then you are probably going to have to assess your situation and take stops to correct it. When people make payment protection claims and find that the coverage was nothing like they thought it would be or that they have a condition or circumstance which makes collecting benefits impossible this can be devastating. This is especially true if the person is already struggling to keep his/her bills paid each month.

Checking Eligibility

Lenders should be asking a lot of questions and checking to see whether or not people who are purchasing insurance can actually reap the benefits of the coverage. Instead, in the past, some policies were sold widely with little consideration as to the suitability of the applicant for the cover. Some ways in which you may have been mis-sold the cover include: if you were told you had to have it, if it was added without your consent, if you were intimidated or pressured into purchasing the cover or you had cover elsewhere. Your cover may also have been mis-sold if you were unsuitable due to your circumstances E.g. if you were unemployed or had a pre-existing medical condition.
