Loan Refunds: Bankers toast supreme court success

The Supreme Court's decision today (November 25th) to uphold the rights of banks against consumer claims of unfair bank charges has been applauded by bankers.

The British Bankers' Association (BBA), representing those who work in financial services, released a statement today which said: "We are pleased that this decision now brings clarity for all parties.

"The Banks will work with the regulators to ensure that the outstanding customer complaints are brought to a swift conclusion."

Although many people struggling to make ends meet will suffer as a result of today's decision, bankers continue to be paid handsomely.

Last month, figures from the Centre for Economics and Business Research showed that bankers' bonuses continue to rise in value and will grow again next year and in 2011.
