Claim Back Loan Insurance

PPI Back

In order to get PPI back you must first substantiate that it was mis sold and that you either did not know you were to be paying for this cover or you were misled into believing it would cover you even though you are amongst a group of people who are excluded from cover. In order to claim back PPI the first step is to file a claim against the lender. You could also have been mis-sold if you were pressured into taking out the cover or didn't really need it, E.g if you already had cover in place elsewhere or were entitled to full sick pay from your employer.

Making your claim

If you believe you are entitled to claim PPI back, the next step is to submit your complaint. Claiming back bank charges is not always straightforward your lender may reject your claim. If this happens, though, you have the right to appeal their decision and if they still maintain they do not believe your policy was mis-sold you can ask the Financial Ombudsman Service to review your case. The Financial Ombudsman Service can take some time to review cases as they receive thousands, but they are totally impartial and will review all the evidence fairly before making their decision. If they uphold your complaint your lender will have to compensate you. Compensation is usually a full refund of all premiums paid and is often accompanied by 8% interest.
