PPI Misold

 Reclaiming any kind of bank charges can be timing consuming, but in the case of misold PPI it can really be worthwhile pursuing a claim. Since 2005 more than 1.5 PPI complaints have been submitted with thousands of customers receiving refunds totalling hundreds and sometimes thousands of pounds.

If you have taken out a loan, mortgage, hire purchase agreement, store or credit card in the last ten years it is likely you were offered payment protection insurance. If you took out the cover, the steps below should help you identify whether your cover was mis-sold.

What is mis-selling

To find out whether you have had PPI misold to you on a loan or card take a look at our list below:

Were you told you had to have the cover?
Were you told taking out the cover would improve your chances of being given the loan?
Were you sold the policy without the full terms and conditions being explained?
Were you sold the cover without the full costs being made clear?
Were you in full time education, retired or unemployed?
Were you aged 65 or over at the time of sale?
Were you suffering from a pre-existing medical condition?
Did you already have cover in place elsewhere or were you entitled to full sick pay from your employer?
Were you a serving member of the armed forces or employed by the civil service?
Were you pressured into taking out the policy?
Was a policy added without your consent?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions then you may have had PPI misold to you and could be entitled to claim compensation.
