PPI Refunded

When trying to get mis sold PPI refunded there are so many questions you may be asking yourself in regards to the process of reclaiming PPI. Of course the first question should always be whether or not you were actually mis sold PPI and if there is any evidence to support this. Once you have established that you were indeed mis-sold a policy by your lender, you can take action to get that money from mis sold PPI refunded to you. You can either choose to get professional help filing your claim or you can go it alone but before you make that decision, take time to consider the consequences of claiming back bank charges in both ways.

Filing a claim

The first step when filing a claim is to establish the grounds upon which you are submitting your claim for mis-selling. Were you given the wrong information, were you sold a policy you didn't want or could not use, were you pressured into taking our a policy or was it added without your consent? Whatever your reason you need to have it clearly established in your mind before you file your claim. It is also often helpful to gather together any supporting documents regarding the condition of the sale or how much PPI refunded you think you are entitled to. Always send copies of these kind of documents and retain the originals. Once your lender has reviewed your complaint they will either make you an offer of settlement, request more information or reject your claim. If your bank requests more information make sure you submit this in a timely fashion and, after reviewing this information, they should then decide whether to accept or reject your claim. If your claim is rejected you may still have the option to have it reviewed by the Financial Ombudsman Service through the appeals process.

PPI Refunded through Appeal

As mentioned, you may need to appeal with the FOS to get PPI refunded but don't think you are alone. Many claims are reviewed by the FOS, but they are impartial and will examine your complaint carefully.

If you are ready to file to have that mis sold PPI refunded, talk to the claims team at Belmont Thornton to see just what they can do for you. To address any concerns you have or to get further information, call the claims team on 0207 471 2000. You will be so glad you did.
