Credit Card Insurance Protection

When you take out a loan of any kind in the UK do not be surprised if you are given the option to take, or even coerced into taking, credit card insurance protection. This is a type of payment protection insurance that purports to cover you in the event that an illness, injury or period of unemployment should ever render you unable to continue making your monthly credit card payments. However, it is an unfortunate fact that many, if not most, of the people who are sold this type of cover do not actually qualify for it at all. The result is credit card insurance protection that is now considered to be mis-sold.

The Gravity of Mis Sold PPI

Whilst we would not want to offend anyone by calling this fraud, one could draw his/her own conclusions on the matter. If a person who is clearly not qualified for a PPI policy is sold one anyway, what exactly would that be called? It could be human error or it could be a tactic designed to put just a little bit more money into the credit card company's coffers. Again, that is up for interpretation and is really of no matter to a person who has just discovered they have fallen victim to a situation such as this. It is a fortunate reality that PPI refunds have become commonplace in the UK as a result of circumstances such as these.

The Cost of Trusting Your Credit Card Company

Credit card insurance protection, in itself, is a confusing matter. The typical person is not usually well versed in financial matters and will almost always go right along with whatever he/she is being told by the credit card company. That is, an ordinary person will more than likely never have even heard of credit card insurance and for this reason will be easily sold on it. The sad fact is that more people than not are falling for these PPI rackets today and as a result have to go back and ask for a PPI refund when it becomes clear they were charged incorrectly or unjustly. Credit card insurance, or any type of insurance for that matter, is supposed to protect you. Unfortunately, when it begins to work in the other direction there is a serious problem. Anything that is meant to protect you but begins to harm you in some way is something that should be addressed immediately.

One of the main problems with mis sold credit card insurance is that you do not always realize you are even paying it. The payments are just added in small bits to your ordinary invoice each month. Because of this, you may miss something that is right in front of your face. If you are in a bad position because you have just become aware that you have been paying for PPI right along unbeknownst to you then the best thing you can do is call on an expert claims management company such as Belmont Thornton to start requesting your refund today. The sooner you address the issue, the faster you are apt to get a response to your claim.
