The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is due to release a major policy statement in January following its consultation on payment protection insurance (PPI), ifaonline reports. In September, the FSA released proposals to protect consumers when they are offered PPI after numerous allegations of mis-selling, outlining new guidance which must be followed by firms.The organisation also announced that it would look into reopening some 185,000 previously rejected PPI complaints and reassess them against the new guidance.It is currently considering responses to the proposals from both consumers and PPI sellers, and will consider any comments received before the end of 2009.This week, the Daily Mail reported the story of Roy Barker, who was mis-sold PPI that he could never use which cost him more than £10,000.Belmont Thornton can help you make a PPI claim – Payment Protection Insurance Claim, or a credit card charges claim.
