Credit card charges: Shopping around can save hundreds of pounds
Shopping around for the best deals can save consumers hundreds of pounds and it is the simplest way to save money.
That is according to Justin Modray, of candidmoney.com, an independent, free and impartial website, dedicated to helping people better understand and look after their money.
Mr Modray claims that it is a good idea if people are in control of their money.
He said: "The simplest way to make your money stretch further is to shop around for the best deals you can find on everyday expenditures like telephone, internet, gas, electricity and insurance.
"This could save you hundreds of pounds a year, especially if you purchase via cashback websites, who'll rebate the sales commissions that are usually paid to price comparison websites."
His comments follow the release of the latest Consumer Confidence Survey by The Nielsen Company and the British Retail Consortium.
The report found that 27 per cent of shoppers have no spare cash.
