People living in the capital could use loan refunds to help with increasing poverty rates.More than 600,000 children in London are now living in the worst conditions in the country, said Child Poverty Action Group's chief executive Alison Garnham. She is worried that the situation – brought about by increased costs of living and lower incomes – could affect children's future chances."We need real action to stop the ranks of London's working poor swelling even further," Ms Garnham stated, before calling on the government to increase the income of those on low wages.Brendan Barber, the general secretary of the Trades Union Congress, recently said low incomes are crippling the country. He explained that any economic recovery could not happen while people are struggling to pay for food and energy. Mr Barber agreed with Ms Garnham by stating the government must formulate a plan to increase the amount of jobs available.Samantha ClarkeSamantha is a former banking assistant and has over ten years experience in retail banking.
