Yorkshire Bank PPI Claim
If you believe you are entitled to make a payment protection claim it is sometimes difficult to know where to begin. Many people are unsure if their policy was actually mis-sold and how much compensation they could be entitled to receive. If you answer ‘No’ to one of the statements below you may be entitled to make a Yorkshire Bank PPI Claim.
- Did you realise PPI was being included with your loan?
- Did you know that PPI was an optional extra?
- Were you told you could buy cover elsewhere?
- If you took out a single-premium Payment protection policy, were you told it would only cover you for five years?
- If you had a pre-existing medical condition, were you told it would not be covered by the policy?
- If you were over 65, were you told most PPI policies don’t cover people of your age?
- If you were unemployed; retired or in full time education, were you told PPI would be of very limited use to you?
- Were the terms and conditions clearly explained to you?
- Were the costs explained in full?
- Were you told the payment protection insurance may attract interest, increase your monthly repayments or increase your repayment term?
- Were you told taking out PPI would have no bearing on whether or not you were given your loan?
- Were you provided with policy documentation?
- Were you given time to consider your decision and not pressured or hurried?
If you think you may be able to make a Yorkshire Bank PPI claim for mis-selling, your next question is probably how much compensation could you receive. It is very difficult to ascertain how much compensation may be paid out as it depends on many different variables including: the mis-selling being proven, the age of the loan and the size of the payment protection policy.
As a rough guide, payment protection insurance is generally charged at between 13% and 25% of the value of the loan. On a loan of £10,000 this would be between £1,300 and £2,500. You should also take into consideration how long you have been repaying your loan as any compensation will depend on how much money you have paid into the PPI policy. It is important to note; however, that you can still make a claim if your loan has been repaid in full and there is no limit to the number of claims you can. If you have had more than one loan with the same lender you may feel you have been mis-sold PPI on more than one occasion and you have the right to make individual complaints relating to each loan.
So far we have helped more than 60,000 customers to make a claim and recovered over £50 million. We aim to get a full refund for every customer plus 8% interest as standard.
